The GCPA Luncheon at LCRA Environmental Research Laboratory, in Austin, Texas was a success.
The guest speaker, Dr. Susan Pope, shared her outlook on the idea that adjustments are needed to ensure market stability due to a large influx of renewable energy with artificially low pricing, combined with an aging fleet of thermal generation.
Dr. Pope has earned her undergraduate and Ph.D. from Harvard Business School. She has been specializing in the economic and public policy analysis of energy markets, advising clients on design, improvement, and performance of bid-based electricity spot markets, capacity, markets, and ancillary service markets for over 20 years. Today she is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting – a global multi-disciplinary business advisory firm.
