from the president….
| TREIA valued members,
We put out the call and you responded by filling the room for TREIA’s 30th anniversary luncheon on May 22nd. The event was remarkable and it was uplifting to find the same heart that built the Texas renewable energy industry still beating strong and ready for continued growth. The discussion exemplified how we are ready to work together toward a bright future for TREIA and renewables in Texas.
|Our Vice President Mark Walker (NRG), board member and membership chair Melissa Miller (Miller Wind) and I had the pleasure to present our vision, and get feedback from the member quorum present. The unanimous vote from them to approve the proposed amendments to the bylaws sets the cornerstone for TREIA to step into the role of an Alliance. By approving the changes, 5 new board member seats have been created to expand our alliance to other organizations and their members. This will allow TREIA to serve as the hub for the alliance of renewable energy organizations.
Today, yesterday and tomorrow, with the charged environment in upcoming elections and legislation, renewable energy industries and their success is coming under fire. We will need to put our arms together and launch marketing campaigns, educational papers, press releases, and take other steps that will not only block these attacks, but also be proactive in setting the record right.
We will be working with our sister organizations to show a united front. If you want to help and participate, please contact me to be part of the effort at this critical stage in our history to preserve renewable energy growth, and shape the role of the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Alliance.
Hala Ballouz, TREIA President
